Yup thats what we do most days. On the other day we play video games and watch movies and hang out with friends.

New recipes we tried this week for summer #2

2 ingredient lemon bars
turned out a bit gooey I think I bought the wrong cake mix. :-(

Chicken tortilla bake
You have to double the Tortilla bake to get a 13 x 9 pan full

Creamy Garlic Pasta
Again I had to double this to feed my family.
Jason said this tasted like something he has ordered at a restaurant
and he said it was so creamy and yummy!
Which is nice since he normally only says that to Monique's food...ha ha

Granola Bars
OK, Orange Julius weren't new but we haven't had them in so long I am listing it.
We also had Broccoli Pesto this week too since we have a new blender hee hee
Ok I just looked for a similar recipe I could link to for Orange Julius but all the ones I saw sucked So here is mine....
1 1/2 C Milk
1/2 sugar
1 t vanilla
6 oz frozen orange juice, nothing added to it
(also my kids wanted to try using a different juice so they had fruit punch and it was yummy)
then after you fill the blender with these 4 ingredients fill the rest with ice.
(Most recipes I found said add like 10 ice cubes but that would not make much and mine make 3 full sized drinks and they are yummy so I cant imagine making it with only 10 cubes???)
Oh ya and my mother and father in law were in town and they are vegan (now, they weren't before) so the broccoli pesto with no cheese and wheat noodles worked well.

Next week I am thinking of trying a
Chicken tortilla bake
2 ingredient ice cream
Creamy Garlic Pasta
and maybe mini meatloafs
and 2 ingredient lemon bars?

Update

I haven't blogged in a really long time and a lot has happened in the last month. Jeremiah has another tooth and is crawling everywhere and standing on everything and everyone.
Gillian is potty training and doing very well but still poops in her undies and not on the potty. She also knows all her letters and tells me which ones she sees.
Savannah is reading very well and trying out new things She even tried to cut her own hair! yup there is a big chunk cut out right on the bottom left side....shhhh don't tell her you know....
Jacob is reading very well too and likes to play with his friends all the time. He never wants to be home and even would rather be at the park in the middle of the day than be at home.
Chase is sick today but other than today he is still reading all the time too and even gets along with Jeremiah all the time. He is a really good big brother to Jeremiah and picks him up all the time and plays with him and gets him food to snack on if I am busy. I just wish all the kids got a long like Chase and Jeremiah.....
Jason is working a lot. He got about 60 hours in last week and still had Monday off.... He works too hard sometimes.
I have not really done a whole lot this summer I have been catching up on laundry and went through the kids laundry and got rid of two big bags of clothes so far. I hung up everything they don't need right now and organized their drawers. I still want to go through their toys and get rid of a ton. And I even painted over some walls where Gilli colored I still have a couple more walls to do but it looks better so far. I even want to paint the family room walls I am now thinking green since I was told its CALMING.... I was originally thinking yellow or Maroon but now hmm...
We go to the pool and splash pad and library during the week and the kids read all the time. Watching movies in between. I need to get re-focused so I don't just lounge around all summer....
I don't do a whole lot since I can tell Jacob to go feed the chickens and check for eggs. Chase can get Jeremiah out of bed and bring him to me then after I feed him I can put him down and he can crawl away to play with toys or a sibling. I never check mail since I pay my bills online and Jason goes to work so I never have to leave if I don't want to.... I should or I would go insane but I don't Have to...
