Tutorial Tuesday

Butterflies

Crochet thread size 10 and 7 needle.

All stitches are done in the in 4th chain from hook.

Chain 4, 3Tr, ch 4, sl st,

ch 5, 3 Dtr, ch 5, sl st,

ch5, 3Dtr, ch 5, sl st,

ch 4, 3 tr, ch 4, sl st.

For earrings or just a butterfly stop here and finish off.

For a bookmark keep going and do NOT finish off.

Chain 80 -100 (depending on how long you would like your bookmark)

3 dc in the 4th chain from hook, chain 3 3 dc in same stitch, chain three, sl st in same stitch, sl st in each stitch across back up to butterfly. Sl st in last stitch on butterfly, and finish off.

To make the antenna. You just need to wrap the thread around the body several times ending and starting at the top and tie a know at the top. Cut the even after tying.

Jeremiah

I keep forgetting to blog this! I wrote it down when it happened but I never blogged it or wrote down a date it was about a month ago.

Jeremiah and I were at BK (I buy a drink and he plays and I crochet for as long as we want) When he came over to me with his Hot Wheels cars he brought. (They are fun to watch on the slide, wink wink) I asked to see them, to see what "kind" of cars they were. He told me, "They cars." So I said, "No, I want to read the bottom." He looked at the bottom of one and says, "Car slow." Then the other, "Car fast." Then shows me the bottoms and says, "See mom."

It was so cute! I laughed so hard and then told myself to write it down because I would forget. Which was true because I wrote it down and forgot about it until I cleaned out my purse.

New Flowers

Just some of the newest flowers I have been trying out.

I just tried out THIS pattern, but with thread and size 7 needle. The Orange one was before I shaped it the others had been shaped. (If you can see the difference)

This one is not my favorite and it didn't even turn out like the pic on the Website I got it from.

This one I love! And I got it from HERE. I also did a longer chain to make a bigger flower.

Some bigger and smaller roses. This is my pattern I posted it HERE.

I love this pattern since its 3D. I get bored with all the flat flowers sometimes.

I like new patterns! Now to find even more!

Chocolate Affair in Glendale

We didnt really do anything we just went to see what it was all about. but everything cost $5 or more for one thing, rides included. In this pic Savannah and Jeremiah are mad at me, Jacob wanted to leave and the others were bored. ;)

Ear Infection

Ok so my heart goes out to any kids and babies that have had an ear infection. I have never had one. And I am dying from pain and being uncomfortable with the stupid fluid in there. I took pain pills every chance I got and probably more than I should but people were talking pain in your EAR! I mean that's worse that a headache and cramps together. I was ready at one point to just stab a hole in my ear to relieve the pressure.

Seriously I was having a hard time sleeping and when I did sleep it was only until I moved and felt the awful movement in my ear and woke back up.

I have been laying on the couch for days just hoping it would feel better and I can say I finally made dinner and got my kids to do chores today. I don't know how but I stood up in the kitchen and made dinner.

I am also glad I have a 12 year old that can make burritos and ramen and sandwiches for his siblings!

I just hope the meds make the fluid go away tomorrow and I can do normal things like walk without feeling dizzy or sit for a period longer then five min., because this isn't working I never want an ear infection again in my life! I am willing to cut the thing off if I do, oh maybe that's why van Gogh did??? Did you ever think of that? I didn't until now! Ya maybe he got an ear infection and said I have had enough of this!!!

Ear Warmer

I made this last night at the request of a friend...hint hint wink wink nudge nudge poke poke.

I had just enough yarn for one flower and some for sewing it on. Wasn't hard, but I couldn't find a free pattern that wasn't in knitting instructions. So I read the knitting instructions and changed them to crochet and made this. I got the pattern from this site. Ear Warmer and like I said I changed it to this what do you think does it look close?

I finished this at 1:20 a.m. last night (do you say last night if its a.m.?) so I didn't sew a button on it. Really easy and not to long to make and since I have a pattern and have made it. It shouldn't take very long at all if I want to make it again.

I got the flower pattern from HERE. The one on the original one was way too big and I didn't have enough yarn for it so I tried this one instead.

Random thoughts

What does it say about me that I am willing to play hip hop and whatever else in my car until I have someone else's kids in there and then I switch it to Country or oldies or something "safe"??? I mean, I do change it when a "bad" song comes on. But what does that mean? Does it mean I am willing to corrupt my kids but not others? Am I a bad mom?

Also on my mind is that I haven't cleaned my house in weeks. I mean I do dishes once a day and get the kids to do their chores and maybe wash school clothes, cuz, well they have to have clean school clothes, but other than that I haven't really done much else. Until again, I have other kids over and then I stop being on the computer and clean the kitchen and the table and counters and the living room and the floors and do laundry and put it away and putting it away is a big deal. Cuz well I never put it away and it just sits on the "laundry table" (Jason hates it when I call it that ha ha) until the kids use it or my mom comes and puts it away. Which is normally once a week. ha ha But tonight I cleaned all night and didn't even think twice about it. I just kept going. Hung my clothes up, vacuumed every room downstairs and under the couch, I even put all the movies away and found cases for ones that weren't put away. I mean really I need other people here to get stuff done? Why? Am I too lazy to do it normally? why cant I get it done normally? Or why can't Make myself do it normally? I just don't get it. Oh well I guess I will try to stop dwelling on it and think about something else.

Jacob 10th B-day

Jacob turning 10 is supposed to be a big deal and yet I am having a hard time getting into it. Hence the late blog. His birthday was the 11th and here it is the 19th and I am just getting around to it.

Well anyway here is Jacob.

Yup!

'Someone' told me it was "too hard" to do, so I waited years to have it done, but I just did it and it wasn't hard at all! I think Men say things like that so they don't have to do something and they think if they say its too hard a girl wont even try it. Men are so Stupid! I swear! If I was a guy I think I would be stupider than I am now! I can do dishes, laundry, make food, and do all the things a man can. But a man can only do men things. They say its too hard to do anything that's "Woman's Work". (Maybe its just my man?)

I cut the material, unscrewed the seats from the chairs and stapled the new covers on and

!Voila!

they are done! How hard was that!?!

It took maybe an hour? Maybe?

Even the kids are happy about it!!!

You know what I hate. I hate that when I make others a gift I forget to take a pic of it and then after I want to remember what it looks like I can't.

Yup, that's what I hate. I take pics of almost everything I do or the kids do but I always forget gifts. Partly because I don't want to post it on my blog or anywhere else before I give it away, then I give it away and forget to take a pic.

I want to blog but I have nothing interesting to blog about. I haven't blogged at all this year. I am a boring person and yet I want to have something interesting to talk about. Blah Blah Blah....

Jacob turned 10... that should be exciting... but its not for some reason.

Buffalo Chicken Filling-for Tacos

3 cans black beans

1 bunch chopped cilantro

1# crumbled blue cheese

3-4 avocadoes, chopped

4 tomatoes, chopped

2 cups shredded cheese

Good with Flour or corn tortillas.

Jeremiah!

I finally got new clippers and cut his hair! Whoo Hoo!!!

I told him to smile and instead he sang " oompa loompa"

Stars?!?!?!

These were supposed to be stars but I think they look like flowers or something non-star-like. And the circle in the middle was NOT big enough for all the stitches that had to go in it, so that made it annoying but since I learned the "magic ring thing" I think I will try that next time. Yes Yes I will!

More Roses

I've got pink, peach, orange, gold, yellow, black, brown, white, green, and red. And that's not including the other colors I have done before! Yeah!!! I love this pattern!!!

Jeremiah's eye

Ok I didn't want to post this until it healed, well, I really wanted to post it when it happened but I was so worried about it that I didn't want to worry anyone else.

So I waited.

Jeremiah hit his eye on Monday the 28th around 3pm in the afternoon. And it immediately swelled like a balloon (ok maybe just a golf ball) and I put ice on it and it went down and we laid there keeping ice on it and both fell asleep (I know that's bad but I couldn't help it, it just happened) So after we woke up I checked it again and it was still big but not as big so I let him take a bath and after the bath he said it hurt.

So I looked at it and it was bigger.

So I freaked out and called Jason at school and asked him what to do. He told me that he didn't think the hospital would do anything except put ice on it so I stayed home and used all the rest of our ice and it did go down but it was still big so I stayed up LATE waiting for it to go down more.

It did so I went to bed and took another pic in the morning and it seemed to be getting better, slowly but still.

Then again in the afternoon I took another pic to show it still healing slowly.

Below are two pics from Wednesday morning. As you can see he was fine. Just a black eye. But I have to say he was happy the whole time. (Except when it happened of course)

Thursday was the first day he could open his eye. YEAH!!!

Friday he had a lot of yellow and a little blue but the rest was still red.

Sunday we have a lot less red and a bunch more yellow and he can really open his eye.

Today he is almost done and he keeps saying, "My eye better- it no hurt." (Ya we need to work on speech ha ha)
